Desk Lamp LED Replacement
Some weeks ago the power switch on my good old desk lamp broke and I decided to finally turn the lamp into a modern LED lamp.
The original lamp was manufactured by a company called Maul and has the model number 82136. It is still being sold today.
Original Desk Lamp
The original electronics were of the cheapest chinese kind :) But they worked well for many years - until the power switch (on right side of the photo) broke.
LED Replacement
Unfortunately I had to make some bodges. The MOSFET I wanted to use was way too small and got way too hot. In addition I replaced two of the trim pots with fixed value resistors. The new MOSFET (IRF520) was then also fitted with a nice, completely oversized heatsink with thermal glue in between the MOSFET and the heatsink.
